Born and raised in a small town in rural Georgia, I grew up in a somewhat isolated bubble. While it was comfortable and in many ways ideal, I soon began to recognize that to fully understand and respect others' lifestyles and points of view, I would need to step outside of that bubble. Once it came time for submitting college applications, I knew it was my chance to get out of the comfort zone I had known for almost 18 years. I needed to get away, but not too far, so I applied and was accepted to Georgia Southern University.
When fall rolled around, I was off to Statesboro, Georgia to live independently for the first time. With a little extra work through dual enrollment classes, I graduated high school with nearly 50 college credit hours and was able to skip my entire freshman year of college putting me in classes with upperclassmen. Three years of hard work and dedication later, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. After graduation in May of 2022, I applied for jobs all over the Southeast. Within a month and a half, I had two offers; one close to home and one in Nashville, TN. I had a difficult decision to make; go back to that comfortable bubble, or face uncertainty and continue to broaden my perspective. I chose to move away and chase a dream because I knew if I did not then, I may never leave.

In June 2022, my bags were packed and I was ready to move into a new home with two strangers I met on Facebook five days prior. I had never been to Nashville before and I did not know one single person who lived there. My level of excitement was over the top, but I was also terrified. At the age of 21, I had moved to an entirely different environment, taken my first "big girl job" and was ready to hit the ground running. Little did I know, I would have to hit the ground sprinting. On my first day of work, I was informed that I would be the only employee at the PR firm with several interns coming and going with only myself to train them. After three days of training, I began overseeing three interns while still learning my role as a publicist. In just a year and a half, I accomplished so much from managing 20+ clients, training and directing new interns multiple times a year and overseeing all company operations during times of the owner's absence. After my time in Nashville, I returned to Georgia where I took a chance to broaden my career path and accept a new position with the state.
I accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as a Communications Specialist (total career change, I know). I had many responsibilities in this position that I was excited to take head-on. After my first week , I was assigned the task of interviewing biologists and writing articles to be published on the Georgia Wildlife website. After beginning the blogging process, I was given the responsibility of completing the Director's Quarterly Report to be sent out to all Georgia DNR employees statewide.

Since then, I have redirected my path to becoming the Content Manager for the Visit Eatonton / Eatonton-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. I write blogs for the website, capture and create content, design graphics and merch mock-ups, and my responsibilities are still growing. I have intentions of starting my own LLC in the coming months of 2025 where I anticipate taking on new clients with hopes to become a full time freelancer..
